FAQs

Of course. The system is waterproof.

A printed "R3 User Manual" guide is provided with the Filante Hybrid at the time of sale.

You can clean the Urace R3 like any other racing bike. Do not use a pressure washer, as water could get into the motor or communication port located above the bottom bracket box. We recommend wiping it with a soft cloth and mild soap, then drying it completely before use.

The maximum speed attainable by Urace R3 with the motor in traction is 25 km/h for the European market and 20 mp/h where non-EU government regulations allow it.

If the bike is not going to be used for a long period, we recommend you charge the battery at least up to 60% before storing it. If after six months the charge level is less than 20%, we recommend charging it again up to at least 60%.

No, the Urace R3’s lithium battery can be charged at any time, because it does not have a memory effect.

We advise against removing the battery. However, Urace R3 can also be used with the assist system in "OFF" mode.

There are three different pedal assist levels adjustable using the button located on the left handlebar: ECO Mode 1; CITY Mode 2; ROCKET Mode 3. The end user can adjust the pedal assist levels using the eBikeContect application.

In Level 3 assist mode, a rider weighing 70kg can expect a range of approximately 80km (50 miles) on flat paved roads.

Factors that affect your range include:

  • Rider Weight: Heavier loads require more battery power.
  • Terrain: Frequent climbing will reduce total mileage.
  • Weather: Strong headwinds and cold temperatures impact battery efficiency.
  • Assist Level: Using higher boost levels consistently will drain the battery faster.

The R3 weighs approximately 14kg (31 lbs).

While this is heavier than a high-end traditional carbon road bike, the weight is strategically distributed to maintain agile handling and stability. Furthermore, the motor's assistance more than compensates for the extra weight, making steep climbs feel significantly easier than on a standard bike.
